- Ann Hamilton Tower
- Jensen and Macey Architects
- Alexander Valley
The tower is a site-specific artwork located at the Oliver Ranch in Alexander Valley. Designed by the artist Ann Hamilton, the concrete tower is conceived as a space for performance. Double helix stairs allow for performers on one stair and audience on the other, letting the two intertwine as the stairs wind up the tower.

Situated on a sixty foot wide infill ocean bluff site, this single family residence is composed of two simple gabled wings that shelter an internal courtyard and copper roofed kitchen and garage elements. A copper clad chimney joins the gabled wings and alludes to the animated and materially rich quality of the composition within.

A concrete barn in scenic Sonoma County is completely transformed by inserting a new glass building inside its heavy exterior walls. The new structure uses frameless glass walls to create light-filled interior spaces, while large cuts in the existing walls frame views of the surrounding vineyards. The restructured interior houses arts-related offices and other leased spaces

A small structure to be used in the production of wine making acts as an object in a landscape and is used as an architectural boundary at one end of a parcel of land, with a single family house at the other end, to create a landscaped precinct between the two structures. As an object, the building expresses itself in a very formalistic way through the manipulation of volume, material and form itself.

This 2,700 sf. retreat perches discreetly within a grove of pine trees on five hundred acres of virgin California landscape. This completely off-grid structure is composed of two parallel but staggered monolith that edit and frame views of the rugged terrain. A disengaged roof plane and close proximity to the existing tree line reinforce tactile perceptions of earth and sky.

A core-ten clad tower sits in a wild landscape, as a seldom-used seemingly agrarian structure. While simple in shape, the building system is derived from addressing a number of primarily environmentally-based conditions which act upon it.
